Cartridge Filters

Champion Depth Filter Cartridges allow for capture of particles through out the depth of the filter media.

These cartridges have a structure that gradually increases in density towards the centre of the element.

Champion offers Pleated Media Filter Elements for extended filter area and for higher flow rates. These Filters are basically surface filters. Most of the particle capture takes place at or near the surface.

For applications where cleanable filter elements are suggested, Champion offers filter elements made from SS Mesh & other Metal Meshes where filtration is done at high temperatures.

Bag Filters

Duplex Filters

Champion Duplex Basket Strainers are recommended in those applications where continuous filtration is desired and downtime due to cleaning of filter element cannot be allowed.
Champion Duplex Basket Strainers/Filters or Dual Strainers/Filters basically consist of two numbers of single/simplex filters connected by two nos of three-way valves.

When one filter gets clogged and has be cleaned. The flow can be diverted through a clean filter while the clogged filter element can be cleaned and kept ready.

There are several options available like manual switchover or motorized changeover and where more sophistication is desired A completely automatic Duplex Self Cleaning Filtration System can be provided where the changeover is automatic and the filter elements also get cleaned automatically and dirty fluid gets drained automatically.

Champion Duplex Strainers are robust and rugged in design. Maximum Filtration area is incorporated to offer more service life.

Temporary Strainers

Champion Temporary Strainers are very much recommended during initial start-up / commissioning of a project to remove coarse debris like rags, welding rods, pipe scale, hardware etc which are accidentally present in a system.

Automatic Self Cleaning Filters

Champion Automatic Backwash Strainers are designed for continuous removal of suspended particles from all types of liquids.
Major Applications are in industrial plants using river, lake, well or sea water for cooling, descaling, bearing lubrication, spraying, quenching, and similar purposes.

Pipeline sizes:from 2”NB to 48” NB.
No Limitations on Flow rates.

No Limitations on Dirt Load.

No Supervision required.

Installation:

Installation is made on the discharge side of a pump or in any piping system operating under a positive pressure. The minimum working pressure required to effectively clean the straining media is 20 psi. The strainer is compact with small face-to-face, width, and height dimensions. Installation can be made in a horizontal or vertical pipeline.

Design

The strainer consists of a one-piece stainless steel cylindrical well screen drum with slotted openings ranging from .005" thru .075". Within the drum is contained a rotor, which is essentially a hollow rotating shaft- supporting two pads extended on each side. These pads are flush with the inside of the drum surface.

Operation

The liquid to be strained enters the inlet connection located in the lower portion of the body and flows upward into the inner surface of the drum. The suspended particles are retained in the media and the clean liquid passes through the media- leaving the body at the outlet connection located diametrically opposite the inlet.

Backwash

As the rotor sweeps past the straining media, a reversal of flow occurs, flushing the suspended particles from the media into the rotor and out through the backwash opening. This reversal of flow is caused by a pressure differential between the interior of the strainer and atmosphere. The backwash flow rate is exceptionally low and will vary, depending on the amount of suspended particles in the liquid. The backwash piping should discharge downward into an open funnel immediately after the backwash valve.

Automatic Backwash ControlIn lieu of a manually operated valve on the backwash outlet line, an automatic control can be furnished to permit intermittent back flushing. This control consists of a motor or pneumatic cylinder operated ball valve actuated by a timer or a pressure differential switch (or both).

Basket Filters & Strainers

Champion Basket Filters also known as Inline Strainers provide a simple, cost effective way to separate particle impurities from fluid systems.

Champion Inline Strainers are ideal
for applications where some interruption is permissible for basket cleaning

· No Limitations on Flow rates !
· No Limitation on working pressures or temperatures.
· Protects pumps, heat exchangers, nozzles, and other expensive pipeline equipment by catching dirt & debris.

· Champion Inline Strainers are available in both standard & high pressure models with screwed ends, flanged, socket weld or butt weld port connections.

· Filter baskets are manufactured by using fine mesh wire cloth over supporting perforated metal. Interchangeable strainer, filter and double element baskets provide a flexible range of operating choices. The basket is held on its seat by a spring basket handle. Normal flow is through the interior of the basket which then contains the collected debris when the basket is lifted out for cleaning. Reverse flow is also possible if desired.

· Magnet inserts are available to help eliminate fine metallic ferrous particles.
